Five evenings of celebration and tortelli cremaschi in the heart of Cremasco
In the heart of Cremasco, the Municipality of Monte Cremasco, in the Province of Cremona, annually celebrates its patron saints Nazario and Celso with a festival that is among the most heartfelt in the region. The festival takes place around the last Sunday of July and unfolds over five evenings of intense participation.
The gastronomic heart of the festival is the tortellata, featuring the famous tortelli cremaschi โ a specialty of local tradition, with an unmistakable sweet-aromatic filling โ served in Piazza Vittorio Emanuele III. The food stands, open every evening, offer the typical cuisine of the region in a popular festive atmosphere.
The program alternates entertainment and devotion. The evenings are enlivened by live music, tribute concerts, shows, and musicals, while sports tournaments are held at the oratory during the festival days. The religious dimension is also present, with the solemn mass and procession on Sunday morning, and the "Aperisagra" that opens the main evening.
Organized by the Municipal Administration together with the Oratorio Don Bosco, the Pro Loco, and the numerous local associations โ from the Chei de la pulenta to Caritas, from the Polisportiva to other local groups โ the Sagra Patronale of Monte Cremasco is the moment when the entire community comes together. A festival that intertwines faith, sport, music, and gastronomy, preserving the identity of this corner of Cremasco.
In 2026, Monte Cremasco will once again celebrate its patrons Saints Nazario and Celso with the patronal festival that animates the town every year in the last week of July. The patronal Sunday falls on July 26th. Five evenings of celebration featuring tortelli cremaschi, food stands, live music, sports tournaments at the oratory, and religious moments, including the solemn mass and procession.
The detailed program will be published by the Municipal Administration, the Oratory, and the Pro Loco in the weeks leading up to the festival.
