The largest Festa de l'Unità in Lombardy
For years, the Area Fiera in Melzo, on Via Colombo, has hosted the Festa Regionale de l'Unità, the most important summer event of the Lombard Democratic Party. Melzo, a municipality in the Metropolitan City of Milan in the heart of the Martesana region, becomes for about a month the meeting point for politics, culture, and social life in the region.
Debates, Culture, and Music
The program intertwines various elements: political debates with prominent national and regional figures, book presentations, and meetings with journalists and authors, alongside a rich entertainment offering with concerts, tango evenings, country music, and dancing. The convivial heart of the festival is the large restaurant, accompanied by a pizzeria and bar.
A Volunteer Effort
The event is made possible by the work of hundreds of volunteers and stands out for its environmental focus: compostable and recyclable tableware and materials, in a plastic-free approach. Despite being a politically-rooted festival, the Festa de l'Unità in Melzo has been a popular gathering point open to the entire territory for decades.
Festa de l'Unità Melzo — edition 2026
The Festa Regionale de l'Unità returns to Melzo in 2026, faithful to its summer placement between June and July at the Area Fiera on Via Colombo. The event will again feature its usual mix of political debates with national guests, cultural events, concerts, dance evenings, and dining, with the work of volunteers and the plastic-free approach that distinguishes it.

The established format includes about a month of evening events with: political debates and current affairs meetings; book presentations; concerts and musical evenings (including tango and country); dancing; and the large restaurant with pizzeria and bar.

Free. Restaurant, pizzeria, and bar are paid. The restaurant is generally open in the evening, with extended hours on weekends.
