About Sagra di Santa Giustina

In early October, Roana celebrates its patron saint, Santa Giustina, with three days of festivities in the main square. Organized by Pro Roana, the festival blends gastronomy, live music, and Cimbrian tradition: gnocchi with ragù or butter and sage, the Cimbrian BBQ sandwich, pinsa romana, and local Altopiano dishes, accompanied by musical evenings, traditional games, and Sunday mass. An event that rediscovers the village's Cimbrian roots.

Santa Giustina, Patron Saint of Roana

The Sagra di Santa Giustina is the patronal festival of Roana, a municipality in the Altopiano dei Sette Comuni (Seven Municipalities Plateau) in the province of Vicenza. Celebrated in early October in the village's main square, named after the saint, the event unfolds over three days of festivities combining devotion, gastronomy, and Cimbrian culture, the ancient Germanic roots of the Plateau.

Flavours of the Altopiano

The heart of the festival is the food stand: offerings range from gnocchi with ragù, butter and sage, or gorgonzola and walnuts, to the pulled meat sandwich called "BBQ Cimbro", as well as pinsa romana and a dish of tosella, polenta, and porcini mushrooms. The cuisine tells the story of the identity of the Altopiano dei Sette Comuni, blending mountain tradition with authentic flavours.

Music, Games, and Cimbrian Tradition

Evenings are enlivened by live music for three consecutive nights, while during the festival there are plenty of traditional games and community moments. Sunday is marked by the mass in honour of the patron saint. The event, organized by Pro Roana, is also an opportunity to rediscover the village's connection to its Cimbrian origins, celebrating a unique culture within the Veneto region.

Sagra di Santa Giustina — edition 2026

The Sagra di Santa Giustina 2026 is expected, as is tradition, in the first week of October in Roana. Pro Roana will again offer three days of festivities with gnocchi, BBQ Cimbro, pinsa romana, and Altopiano dishes, live music for three evenings, traditional games, and Sunday mass in honour of the patron saint.

The 2026 edition of the Sagra di Santa Giustina is anticipated, according to tradition, in the first week of October in Roana. Pro Roana will liven up Piazza Santa Giustina with three days of festivities dedicated to the patron saint, featuring gastronomy, music, and Cimbrian culture.

The food stand will offer gnocchi with ragù, butter and sage, or gorgonzola and walnuts, the BBQ Cimbro sandwich, pinsa romana, and a dish of tosella, polenta, and porcini mushrooms. Live music for three evenings, traditional games, and Sunday mass are confirmed. Precise dates and the full program will be announced by Pro Roana.
