Villaverla's Patron Saint Festival
The Sagra di San Domenico is the most anticipated event of the summer in Villaverla, a municipality in the Alto Vicentino area of the province of Vicenza. Organised by the Pro Loco of Villaverla in Piazza delle Fornaci, the patron saint festival combines devotion, gastronomy, and entertainment over four consecutive evenings.
Gnocchi, Bigoli, and Barbecues
The heart of the festival is the rich food stand, featuring handmade gnocchi and bigoli as its signature dishes, accompanied by grilled meats, cold platters, bruschetta, and fried desserts. The kitchen opens every evening from 6:30 PM, attracting visitors from all over the Vicenza region.
Dancing, Music, and Fireworks
Alongside the food, the festival offers a 400 sq m dance floor with ballroom orchestras every evening and the trendier music of the Villaverla Summer Fest. The celebration concludes grandly with the fireworks display on the final evening at midnight. A mix of tradition and fun for all ages, with free admission.
