Sagra delle Castagne di Colloredo

A tradition spanning five centuries

The Sagra delle Castagne di Colloredo is a festival with ancient roots: it has been passed down for over five hundred years in the hamlet of Colloredo, in the Municipality of Sossano, at the foot of the Berici Hills in the province of Vicenza. The absolute stars are the chestnuts, a symbol of autumn and of a region with a strong agricultural vocation.

Three weekends of celebration

The festival takes place over three weekends in October, under the covered stand set up in the center of Colloredo. Alongside the chestnuts, the food stand offers traditional Vicenza dishes, accompanied by musical evenings and entertainment for all ages. It is an eagerly awaited event not only by residents but also by visitors to the Berici Hills who explore the local festivals in autumn.

The heart of the community

Organized by the Gruppo Ricreativo Colloredo (Colloredo Recreational Group), the festival is a moment of identity for the hamlet and for the entire Municipality of Sossano. The work of volunteers, the care in preparing the chestnuts, and the convivial atmosphere make this festival much more than a gastronomic event: it is the celebration of a community that cherishes one of its longest-standing traditions year after year.
