Fresh snails and typical flavors in the Legino district
The Sagra della Lumaca is one of the longest-running gastronomic festivals in Savona: it takes place in the Legino district, in Via Chiabrera, and is organized by the Società Fratellanza Leginese Aps together with the Circolo Arci Milleluci Aps. An event that brings the neighborhood community together around a traditional popular dish.
The absolute stars are the fresh snails, cooked according to traditional recipes, alongside other typical local specialties. The food stands open for dinner on Fridays and Saturdays and for lunch on Sundays, in a convivial and welcoming neighborhood festival atmosphere.
The festival is divided into two events spanning late May and early June, doubling the opportunities to taste Legino's snails. A formula that makes it one of the most anticipated gastronomic rituals of the early Savona summer, capable of attracting regulars and curious visitors from all over the city.
The 69th edition of the Sagra della Lumaca enlivens the Legino district in two events: from May 29 to 31 and from June 5 to 7, 2026. In Via Chiabrera, the food stands of the Società Fratellanza Leginese and Circolo Arci Milleluci offer fresh snails cooked according to tradition and other typical specialties, for dinner on Fridays and Saturdays and for lunch on Sundays.
By car: A10, exit Savona, then head towards the Legino district. The festival takes place at Via Chiabrera 4.
Dinner on Fridays and Saturdays from 7:30 PM; lunch on Sundays from 12:30 PM. Free entry; pay for food and drinks at the stands.
