A Village Festival in Settimo

The Sagra dell'Addolorata is the traditional festival of the hamlet of Settimo, in the municipality of Pescantina, in the province of Verona. It takes place in September, around the liturgical feast of the Blessed Virgin of Sorrows (September 15th), and typically spans two weekends of festivities that liven up the hamlet.

Home Cooking and Dancing

The heart of the sagra is the food stand offering traditional Veronese home cooking, accompanied by the large dance floor, a real meeting point for fans of liscio (ballroom dancing). There is also a charity raffle and a Luna Park, making the festival a popular event for all generations.

Devotion and Community

The sagra is organized by the parish of Settimo together with the Pro Loco (local tourist association), with the patronage of the Municipality of Pescantina, and keeps alive the link between the popular festival and devotion to the Madonna Addolorata. It is an authentic example of how, in the Venetian hamlets, religious observances continue to mark community life.
