Over a century of celebration in the San Massimo district of Verona
The Sagra di San Massimo is the historic festival of the district of the same name, in the western part of Verona. With a tradition dating back to 1913, it is among the longest-running neighbourhood festivals in the city of Verona: in recent editions, it has surpassed its 110th edition, testifying to more than a century of continuity.
The festival takes place in the San Massimo district straddling the end of August and the beginning of September. The food and wine stalls offer traditional Veronese dishes at popular prices, while every evening bands and groups perform live on stage, with country nights, exhibitions, and DJ sets. A widespread celebration that enlivens the district for several days.
Organised by the parish community, the Sagra di San Massimo thrives on the volunteer work of residents and is distinguished by its charitable dimension, with initiatives to support the community. For those who want to discover the Verona of the neighbourhoods, far from the major tourist flows of the centre, it is an immersion into over a century of popular tradition.
In 2026, the historic Sagra di San Massimo returns to liven up the western district of Verona. Following the traditional calendar, the festival will take place between late August and early September, with food and wine stalls, live music evenings, and charity initiatives. The official dates are announced by the parish of San Massimo and on the sagra's social media channels.
The usual structure of the festival includes, for its entire duration, the evening opening of food and wine stalls with traditional Veronese dishes, live music with bands and groups, country nights, performances, and DJ sets. The detailed program with dates and guests for the 2026 edition will be published by the parish. Program coming soon.
