The food and wine walk through the courtyards of Lugagnano
The Magnalonga di Lugagnano combines two simple pleasures: a walk in the Veronese countryside and good food. It is a food and wine walk that crosses the courtyards and country lanes of the hamlet of Lugagnano, in the Municipality of Sona (province of Verona), with numerous rest stops to taste typical dishes and local wines.
Participants are divided into groups of 50-60 people and start at staggered times (about every 20 minutes), so as to distribute the flow along the stages and allow each group to savour each course calmly. The menu ranges from appetizers, first courses, second courses, cheeses, cured meats, and desserts, accompanied by wine and often by ice cream and coffee at the end.
Conceived in 2004, the Magnalonga has become an eagerly awaited event not only by the residents of Lugagnano but also by many enthusiasts of food and wine walks in the Veronese area. The organisation is coordinated by the Pro Loco Sona (local association) along with numerous associations and volunteer groups from the area, and the proceeds are traditionally allocated to charitable projects.
In 2026, the Magnalonga di Lugagnano will again offer its gastronomic walk through the courtyards and country lanes of the Sona hamlet, with staggered group departures and tasting stops of typical dishes and local wines. The exact date (usually a Sunday in early September) and detailed program will be published by Pro Loco Sona closer to the event.
Detailed program (date, route, and menu for each stop) coming soon: it will be announced by Pro Loco Sona in the weeks before the event. The established format includes departures in groups of 50-60 people at staggered times and numerous stops along the courtyards of Lugagnano with tastings of typical dishes and local wines.
