The Sagra di Campagnamagra, also known as Festa delle Lasagnette col Cunel, takes place every year at the beginning of September in the locality of Campagnamagra in Vigasio, in the province of Verona, around the ancient sanctuary dedicated to the Nativity of the Virgin. It is one of the most cherished festivals in the Villafranca area, an event that links religious tradition and popular conviviality.
Lasagnette col cunel and Veronese cuisine
The dish that gives the sagra its name is lasagnette col cunel, which means lasagne with rabbit sauce, a specialty of the Veronese peasant tradition. The food stand also offers risotto col tastasal, grilled meats, roast veal, cotechino with sauerkraut, and strauben, fried desserts of Tyrolean origin.
Six days of music, sport, and tradition
The program spans six days with dancing evenings enlivened by orchestras, dance shows, a funfair, and stalls. Among the most anticipated events are the foot race «Na corsetta in Campagnamagra» and the religious moments related to the sanctuary. The sagra is organized by Progetto Emera Onlus with the patronage of the Municipality of Vigasio.
