The Sagra di Santa Maria di Zevio is the village festival of the hamlet of the same name, in the municipality of Zevio (province of Verona). It takes place at the beginning of September in the square in front of the sports field, along Via Orazio Andreoli, and is organised in collaboration with the Municipality, the Pro Loco of Zevio, the Corpo Alpini (Alpine troops association), and the Circolo Noi Santa Maria (a local youth and community centre), with the support of the parish of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
The sagra offers four evenings of live music, dominated by acclaimed tribute bands dedicated to the great names of Italian and international music, accompanied by cuisine from the food stalls open every evening from 7:00 PM. Among the most anticipated moments are the 'assalto alla cuccagna' (a traditional game where participants try to climb a greased pole to grab prizes) and the charity raffle, which make the festival a beloved event for all generations.
It is one of the many sagre that liven up the summer and early autumn in the Bassa Veronese region: a popular, free event rooted in the life of the Santa Maria community.
