Brusimpiano's Summer Festival
When August arrives, Brusimpiano - a small municipality in the province of Varese located on the Italian shore of Lake Ceresio - brings to life one of its most cherished traditions: the Sagra del Pesce (Fish Festival). Organized by the Pro Loco of Brusimpiano, the festival transforms Piazza Lago into the beating heart of the village's summer, in one of the most evocative natural settings on the Lombardy-Switzerland border.
Fish is the Star
The common thread of the event is fish, presented in dishes prepared according to traditional lake and sea recipes, alongside sandwiches, beer, and other gastronomic offerings. You eat outdoors, by the lake, in an informal setting that attracts residents and visitors from neighboring towns every year.
Music and Conviviality
The Sagra del Pesce is not just about food. Friday and Saturday evenings are enlivened by music with DJs, while Sunday concludes with live music. Between good food, good music, and the charm of Lake Ceresio, the festival is one of the events that best captures the conviviality of the Varese region's villages.

The 2026 edition of the Sagra del Pesce di Brusimpiano is expected, as tradition dictates, in early August in Piazza Lago. The Pro Loco of Brusimpiano will reprise the tried-and-tested formula of three days dedicated to fish, with a food stand, DJ evenings on Friday and Saturday, and live music on Sunday, on the shores of Lake Ceresio.
