Sacralità & Gusto is the summer festival that transforms La Fraschetta del Castellare de' Sernigi, along Strada Palazzuolo in Tavarnelle (Barberino Tavarnelle), into a natural open-air theatre. The evenings take place in a small amphitheatre built from ancient wood and set within the villa's garden, surrounded by olive and holm oak trees, just a few steps from a small white chapel that gives the place an atmosphere suspended between dream and reality. It is one of the most evocative cultural events of the summer in the Florentine Chianti, in the province of Florence.

The festival's name tells the story of its soul: the encounter between the spiritual dimension of beauty and the authentic pleasure of shared experiences. Each evening combines music and theatre: the programme alternates between concerts and theatrical performances, with genres changing from week to week. At the end of the show, the Fraschetta format includes a buffet dinner accompanied by selected local wines, in the true Chianti spirit. It is precisely this combination of culture and food-and-wine conviviality that gives the festival its unique character, where the "taste" (gusto) in the title translates into the typical hospitality of the Chianti lands.

When and where

The festival takes place throughout the summer, from June 24th to July 30th, with evenings concentrated on weekdays. Performances generally begin around 9:15 PM, when the twilight light gives way to the intimate atmosphere of the woods. The venue is La Fraschetta del Castellare de' Sernigi, at Strada Palazzuolo 38/40 in Barberino Tavarnelle (Florence), in the heart of the Chianti hills.
