FITA amateur theatre award held at the Palazzo Ducale in Alvito, in the Comino Valley
Ruggito d'Attore is an amateur theatre award promoted by the FITA Provincial Committee of Frosinone (Italian Federation of Amateur Theatre), with the patronage of the Municipality of Alvito and the support of the FITA Lazio Regional Committee. Every year, between May and June, the village of Alvito—nestled in the Comino Valley in the province of Frosinone—becomes a focal point for amateur companies from Lazio and neighbouring regions.
Performances are held at the Alvito Municipal Theatre, located inside the monumental Palazzo Ducale, one of the town's historic landmarks. The intimate and welcoming auditorium creates a direct connection between actors and spectators, making it the perfect setting for prose and dialect comedy.
Ruggito d'Attore is more than just a festival; it is a true competition. The participating companies perform before a jury of experts and the audience, who are invited to vote using special feedback cards. During the final evening, awards are presented to the best productions, directors, and performers. The artistic direction is led by Federico Mantova, with artistic coordination by Maurizio Nardozi.
The programme alternates between witty comedies, classic Italian and international repertoire, and dialect theatre. Past editions have featured works by authors such as William Shakespeare, Eduardo Scarpetta, Nikolai Gogol, and Ettore Petrolini, reinterpreted with the passion and dedication typical of amateur companies.
Attending Ruggito d'Attore is also a wonderful opportunity to discover Alvito and the Comino Valley, one of the most authentic corners of southern Lazio, with its medieval village, traditional local flavours, and the natural beauty of the Abruzzo, Lazio and Molise National Park. A night at the theatre becomes part of a broader cultural experience that blends live performance with local exploration.

The artistic direction was led by Federico Mantova, with coordination by Maurizio Nardozi. The awards ceremony, featuring the show «Tentatio», concluded the festival on June 14.
