Hippie Market, live music, and street food in the shadow of the Roman aqueducts
As the days grow longer and the first warmth heralds the new season, the 692 Secret Garden in Rome opens its doors for the Roman Spring among the Aqueducts, one of the most anticipated events in the capital's Hippie Market scene. Tucked away along Via Tuscolana at number 692, this private space offers a surprising setting: an open-air garden and three indoor rooms overlooking the imposing remains of ancient Roman aqueducts, in the Quadraro district, just a stone's throw from Porta Furba.
The star of the show is the market, the true beating heart of this two-day event. Among the stalls, you will find independent crafts, illustrations, small-batch original productions, handmade creations, and a curated selection of vintage objects and clothing from all over Italy. Each piece tells a story, from unique collections to projects by young creatives, offering a slow and curious shopping experience, far removed from mass-market consumerism.
The event's soundtrack spans a diverse range of atmospheres. From traditional Roman stornelli (folk songs) and vaudeville to Latin sounds, vintage pop and rock, and South American influences. Concerts, performances, and improvisations fill both days, while roving shows with jugglers, clowns, and surprising characters animate the garden paths, bringing moments of play and wonder to both adults and children.
The Roman Spring among the Aqueducts is also designed for families. A dedicated area hosts creative workshops for children: from pottery classes, where they can mold clay and natural materials, to the art of mosaics, using colorful tiles to create small Mediterranean-style works of art. There is also a Zen corner, a relaxation space where families can find calm and lightness away from the city's hustle and bustle.
To complete the experience, a selection of freshly prepared street food accompanies the time spent browsing the stalls and enjoying the concerts, offering flavors of street cuisine to suit every taste. Admission is by voluntary donation, making it a festival open to everyone that celebrates creativity, music, and outdoor conviviality.
Located in the Municipality of Rome, in the Metropolitan City of Rome Capital, in the Lazio region, the event showcases one of the most evocative and lesser-known corners of the Capital, the Parco degli Acquedotti and the Quadraro district, offering locals and tourists a chance to rediscover the city in an intimate and festive atmosphere.
