About FRA'

Every December, Fusolab 3.0 in East Rome transforms into a hub for independent craftsmanship: FRA' - Affordable Gift Fair brings together over a hundred exhibitors, including ceramicists, illustrators, tailors, goldsmiths, and small-scale makers, with one simple, revolutionary rule: no item for sale can cost more than 50 euros. Featuring workshops for children, afternoon shows, musical selections, and a food area, it has become one of the most beloved Christmas events in the eastern part of the capital, with free admission.

A Christmas market with one single rule

FRA' - Affordable Gift Fair was born at Fusolab, a historic cultural space in the eastern district of Rome, with an idea as simple as it is radical: every item on display must cost a maximum of 50 euros. This isn't about selling off stock, but proving that a beautiful, unique, and handmade gift can remain accessible to everyone. In a time of year when Christmas shopping pushes towards compulsive spending, FRA' proposes the exact opposite: less money, more care, and the chance to meet the person who actually made what you are buying.

Ten years of growth in Municipio V

Starting out as a small neighborhood fair, the event reached its tenth edition in 2025, spanning three weekends in December and hosting over 120 exhibitors per edition, with more than 30,000 visitors recorded over the years. The credit goes to a formula that has managed to grow without compromising: no big brands, no reselling, only self-production and selected independent craftsmanship. Fusolab, an association rooted in the Municipality of Rome and the eastern suburbs between Alessandrino and Villa De Sanctis, has made it one of the signature events of its calendar, alongside concerts, exhibitions, and educational activities.

The thematic areas

The spaces of Fusolab 3.0 are divided into sectors so that visitors can easily navigate among hundreds of stalls:

  • Handmade crafts — ceramics, jewelry, textiles, accessories, sustainable fashion;
  • Illustration and publishing — prints, posters, zines, small independent publishers;
  • Nature and wellness — natural cosmetics, herbal teas, essences, soaps;
  • Family and children — creative games, children's books, wooden toys;
  • Food & beverage — gourmet gifts and a refreshment area.

More than just stalls: a day at Fusolab

FRA' is not just a market. Each day is marked by creative workshops for children (in 2025 dedicated to the theme of Santa's helpers), afternoon shows with multiple performances between 4:30 PM and 7:15 PM, retro-gaming stations, live musical selections, and a charity lottery whose proceeds support local social projects. The food area remains open for the duration of the fair, making it natural to turn the visit into an entire afternoon, especially for families.

Why it's worth a visit

In the Lazio Region, and in Rome in particular, there is no shortage of Christmas markets; what sets FRA' apart is its consistency. The 50-euro cap forces exhibitors to focus on small formats and creativity, and the result is a catalog of items often more original than what is found at the famous fairs in the historic center. It is also a concrete opportunity to get to know the creative scene of the Roman suburbs, made up of neighborhood workshops, cartoonists, ceramicists, and micro-enterprises that rarely have a showcase of their own.

A truly accessible event

Admission is free on all days, the Fusolab 3.0 spaces are indoors — a non-secondary detail in December — and the adjacent multi-story parking is available at no cost. The Metro C Alessandrino stop is just a few minutes' walk away, making the fair easily reachable even for those arriving from the city center without a car.

FRA' — edition 2026

Following the tenth edition in 2025, FRA' - Affordable Gift Fair is expected to return to Fusolab 3.0 in East Rome in December 2026. The organization has not yet released the official calendar or opened registrations for exhibitors: the dates indicated are purely indicative and should be verified on the Fusolab channels before planning your visit.

2026 Edition: dates not yet announced

At the time of writing, Fusolab has not published the calendar for the new edition of FRA'. However, the event has taken place continuously every December for the last ten years, always at the Viale della Bella Villa 94 location in Rome, spread over two or three pre-Christmas weekends with opening hours from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM and free admission.

It is reasonable to expect the confirmation of the usual setup: thematic areas dedicated to self-produced crafts, illustration and independent publishing, natural cosmetics, children's games, and food and wine, accompanied by workshops, afternoon shows, and a food area. The 50-euro maximum rule for every item for sale remains the hallmark of the fair. We recommend checking the official website fusolab.net and the association's social media channels for definitive dates and the exhibitor call.
