The regional FMI Bikers rally in the hills of the Rieti Sabina
The Regionalis Bikers FMI Lazio is an annual event that gathers motorcycle clubs from Lazio affiliated with the Bikers section of the Italian Motorcycle Federation (FMI). It is not a race, but a celebration on two wheels: a weekend where hundreds of motorcyclists converge from across the region to share roads, music, and meals. In 2026, the organization was entrusted to the Black Lions Motoclub, a group active since 2006, which hosted the event in the town of Frasso Sabino, in the province of Rieti, Lazio.
Frasso Sabino is a small town in the Rieti Sabina, with a few hundred inhabitants nestled among olive groves and holm oak forests, famous for the astronomical observatory located just outside the village. The territory is defined by gentle curves, panoramic hairpin bends, and medieval villages just a few kilometers apart: an ideal playground for those who love to ride without haste. Choosing this location for the regional rally allowed participants to discover a corner of Lazio often overlooked by major tourist flows, halfway between Rome and Rieti.
The rally format alternates between social gatherings and spectacular events, with a rhythm that heats up in the afternoon and continues until 1:00 AM. The program typically includes:
The Bikers section of the Italian Motorcycle Federation brings together clubs that prioritize motorcycle tourism and social life over competition. Regional rallies like the one in Lazio are stages of a national circuit that awards points to participating clubs based on the number of members present and the distance traveled: hence the tradition of arriving in groups, wearing the colors and carrying the banners of one's club. Over the years, a close-knit community has formed around this ritual, where road safety and solidarity carry as much weight as the passion for two wheels.
Admission to the rally is free, and the event is open to non-motorcyclists as well: families, curious visitors, and residents can find music, shows, and food stands throughout the weekend. A free camping area is available for those who wish to stay overnight, a solution highly appreciated by those arriving from the more distant provinces of Lazio. The atmosphere is that of a typical village festival, with the roar of engines providing the soundtrack and outdoor tables occupied until late at night.
The event usually takes place in June, when the temperatures in Sabina are still pleasant and the evenings are long. Those arriving early can take advantage of the day for a tour of the surroundings: the Abbey of Farfa, Casperia, Roccantica, and Poggio Mirteto are all reachable in less than half an hour.
For 2026, the FMI Lazio Regional Committee assigned the Bikers rally to the Black Lions Motoclub, which set up the festival area in Frasso Sabino, a small village in the Rieti Sabina. From Friday afternoon to Saturday night, the village welcomed motorcyclists from all provinces of Lazio, with a packed program of music, performances, and socializing.
The formula alternated between moments dedicated to motorcycles — vehicle exhibitions, Rieti Racing Club performances, morning scenic rides through the olive groves of the Farfa valley — and evenings of pure fun, with the 7:00 PM aperidisco, 90s DJ sets, and a live concert by the band After Eight, dedicated to dance hits from the 70s, 80s, and 90s. There were also sports presentations, such as X-Treme Aerial Fitness, and evening shows that concluded each day at 1:00 AM.
Admission was free for the duration of the event, with an open bar, food stalls, and a camping area available to participants.
Throughout the rally: motorcycle and car exhibition, food stall with draft beer, fire shows, and camping area.
By car or motorcycle: from the A1 motorway, take the Fiano Romano exit, then the SS4 Via Salaria towards Rieti and exit for Poggio Moiano/Frasso Sabino. From Rome, the journey takes about an hour. The nearest train station is Poggio Mirteto, on the Rome-Orte line.
Free for everyone, both for motorcyclists and the general public. Free camping area available for participants.
Food stalls with hot dishes and beer are open every day of the rally.
