The scorzone of the Marche region celebrates at Parco La Golena del Furlo
Nestled along the Via Flaminia, at the foot of the spectacular Gola del Furlo, Acqualagna is universally recognized as one of Italy's truffle capitals. In the territory of this small municipality in the Marche region, province of Pesaro and Urbino, a very significant portion of national truffle production is harvested, so much so that the town dedicates four fairs throughout the year to this precious underground mushroom. The Regional Summer Black Truffle Fair, dedicated to the scorzone (Tuber aestivum), is the summer event celebrating the truffle that ripens in the warmer months.
Now in its 41st edition, the event has established itself over the years as one of the most anticipated food and wine events of the Marche summer. Every year it attracts enthusiasts, curious visitors, and gourmets who take advantage of the weekend to discover the flavors of black truffles and the unique natural environment of the Gola del Furlo State Nature Reserve, where the fair finds its evocative setting in Parco La Golena.
A distinctive feature of the fair is its collaboration with the Fano Jazz Network: Parco La Golena hosts some of the evenings of the Fano Jazz by the Sea program, transforming the Candigliano river bend into a natural stage under the stars. The evenings feature world music, folk, and jazz fusions with free admission, in dialogue with the protected landscape of the Furlo Gorge.
The Regional Summer Black Truffle Fair is much more than a local festival: it's an opportunity to experience the Acqualagna area in one of its most beautiful seasons, amidst the intense aroma of the scorzone truffle, the hospitality of the local Pro Loco associations, and the unspoiled beauty of the Gola del Furlo, one of the most beloved natural areas in the Marche region.
The fair opens on Saturday, August 1st, with stands offering truffles and local products. In the evening, at 9:30 PM, Parco La Golena del Furlo hosts the concert Furlo 'in Jazz with Tasuta N-Imal, a sextet from southeastern Morocco that blends Amazigh tradition, folk-rock, and contemporary influences: this is the closing evening of Fano Jazz by the Sea 2026, with free admission. Sunday, August 2nd, the celebration continues with the opening of the stalls, truffle walks, scorzone truffle tasting menus, and the show I 7 Cervelli.
Acqualagna is located along the SS3 Via Flaminia, easily reachable by car from the Fano exit of the A14 motorway (approx. 40 km) or from Rome via the Flaminia road. The nearest train station is Fano, connected by bus lines to the area. Parco La Golena del Furlo can be reached by continuing along the Flaminia towards the Gola del Furlo.
Admission to the fair and evening concerts is free. Truffle tasting menus are subject to a charge (around โฌ20) and require advance booking.
