Five days of advanced training for young dancers on the Riviera
RED - Riccione Estate Danza is one of the most important Italian events dedicated to youth dance training. Organized by Cruisin' with the patronage of the Municipality of Riccione, the event takes place every year in July in the heart of the seaside resort of the Romagna Riviera, in the province of Rimini, in Emilia-Romagna. For five days, the Congress Palace (PalaRiccione) in Via Virgilio, the Palazzo del Turismo, and the Palestra Catullo become a large dance campus, where hundreds of young dancers from all over the peninsula study side-by-side with prestigious teachers and choreographers.
The program is designed for dancers aged 13 and up and is divided into two main tracks to choose from, or to combine with the Open Card formula which gives access to both:
Mornings and afternoons are dedicated to study and development, while evenings become opportunities for meeting, sharing, and artistic expression.
Alongside the main program, RED dedicates the WeDance track to children and young people under 13: five days of lessons and fun, with an academic and an urban track, designed to introduce younger children to the world of dance in an engaging and safe environment. The young participants have the opportunity to perform in the WeDance Show during the DanceXperience evening.
One of the most beloved features of Riccione Estate Danza is its openness to the city. The evenings offer shows, parades, and contests open to the public along the city streets. The highlight is DanceXperience, the grand final show held on the stage of Piazzale Roma: a free evening that celebrates all styles of dance, with performances by participating schools and dancers and the presence of prominent guests from the choreographic scene.
Over the years, RED has grown to become an anticipated event for dance schools throughout Italy, capable of combining high-level training, networking among young talents, and the summer vibrancy of Riccione. The event confirms the vocation of the Romagna city as a destination that combines seaside tourism, events, and culture, welcoming a true community of dance enthusiasts every July.
From July 13 to 17, 2026, Riccione hosts the eighteenth edition of Riccione Estate Danza. The venues are the Congress Palace (Via Virgilio 17), the Palazzo del Turismo (Piazzale Ceccarini), and the Palestra Catullo. The workshop is aimed at dancers aged 13 and over, with two training tracks to choose from: the academic one (classical, modern, and contemporary dance) and the urban one, as well as the Open Card formula which allows access to both.
On Thursday, July 16, 2026, the stage at Piazzale Roma hosts DanceXperience, the free evening show that celebrates all styles of dance with performances by participants and guests from the choreographic world.
By train: Riccione station is on the Adriatic line Bologna-Ancona, a few minutes' walk from the Congress Palace (Via Virgilio 17). By car: take the Riccione exit from the A14 motorway, then follow signs for the center. By plane: Rimini-Miramare Airport (Federico Fellini) is a few kilometers away; alternatively, Bologna or Forlรฌ.
