In Montegrosso Pian Latte, in the upper Valle Arroscia, the Raviöre Festival celebrates a unique dish in the Ligurian culinary landscape: raviöre, fresh pasta parcels shaped like little boats, filled with over twenty wild mountain herbs. A product with Communal Designation (De.Co.), an expression of the 'cucina bianca' (white cuisine) of the Ligurian Alps, raviöre are the stars of the festival organized by the Pro Loco every year in July, featuring food stalls, music, and the authentic atmosphere of the village.

Raviöre, a treasure of 'cucina bianca'

In Montegrosso Pian Latte, a municipality in the Province of Imperia in the upper Valle Arroscia, raviöre are the gastronomic pride of the town. These are fresh pasta parcels, elongated in shape resembling a small boat, made with a simple dough (just over an egg) and filled with a rich mixture of mountain wild herbs: lemon verbena, engari (wild spinach), nettles, and over twenty varieties of herbs and vegetables gathered and dried with salt. It's a dish that tells the story of the 'cucina bianca' associated with transhumance and has earned the Communal Designation (De.Co.).

The Raviöre Festival, organized by the Pro Loco, takes place in July and is one of the most beloved gastronomic events of the summer in the valley. For one evening, the village comes alive with stalls offering raviöre in their traditional recipe, along with other mountain cuisine dishes, in an atmosphere of celebration and conviviality.

The Raviöre Festival returns to Montegrosso Pian Latte in July 2026, traditionally on the second weekend. The stars will be raviöre, the fresh pasta with over 20 De.Co. wild herbs from the white cuisine, featured alongside food stalls and music in the upper Valle Arroscia.

For 2026, the Raviöre Festival in Montegrosso Pian Latte will be held again in July, following the tradition of placing it on the second weekend of the month. The Pro Loco will once again offer raviöre, the fresh pasta parcels filled with over twenty wild mountain herbs, a De.Co. product of the white cuisine, along with other traditional dishes.

The exact date and evening program will be announced by the Pro Loco closer to the event.
