The plant and flower market that transforms Ravenna's historic centre into an open-air garden
Every spring, Ravenna in Bloom transforms the historic centre of the Romagna capital into an open-air garden. For an entire weekend, the most beautiful squares in Ravenna, in the heart of Emilia-Romagna, fill with colours and scents: from the monumental Piazza del Popolo to the lively Piazza XX Settembre, to Piazza Garibaldi, the entire city centre becomes a market exhibition dedicated to quality floriculture.
The heart of the event are the nursery gardeners and direct producers who come from every Italian region. Not just simple sellers, but experts available to give practical advice and suggestions to visitors. The offer is very wide and designed for every need: ideal solutions for gardens, terraces, balconies, and indoor spaces. Among the most requested plants are flowering and budding plants such as hydrangeas, begonias, and geraniums, also available in large sizes.
Alongside ornamental, garden, and fruit plants, visitors will find a rich assortment of aromatic herbs — over two hundred varieties of culinary and medicinal herbs — along with botanical rarities, collector's plants, and the first blooms of the year. The exhibition is completed by pots, containers, furnishings, and accessories for green spaces, as well as a selection of themed crafts, for those who want to take home not just a plant but also the idea of a new green corner.
Organized by Piazze in Fiore with the patronage of the Municipality of Ravenna, the event is part of a circuit of floricultural market exhibitions that touch several cities in Emilia-Romagna. In Ravenna, the event falls during the Easter period and attracts thousands of visitors: a walk among the stands is also an opportunity to discover the city's historic centre, famous for its UNESCO World Heritage Byzantine mosaics. Admission is free and the open-air format makes the visit enjoyable for families, gardening enthusiasts, and the simply curious.
The 11th edition of Ravenna in Bloom was held from Saturday, April 4 to Monday, April 6, 2026, in the heart of the Easter weekend. The big novelty of the year was the expansion of the exhibition space to three squares in the city centre: Piazza del Popolo, Piazza XX Settembre, and Piazza Garibaldi.
The stands offered a wide selection of plants for every need — for gardens, terraces, balconies, and indoor spaces — with a large focus on flowering plants such as hydrangeas, begonias, and geraniums, also in large sizes, in addition to over 200 varieties of aromatic herbs and numerous botanical rarities. Following the success of the previous edition, organizers estimated over 20,000 visitors for 2026.
The event took place over three consecutive days with continuous opening from 9:00 AM to 7:30 PM.
