The festival that kicks off winter in Ratschings

When the Ratschings-Jaufen ski area launches its new winter season in early December, the municipality of Ratschings does more than just switch on the lifts: the opening turns into a full-blown festival. The heart of the celebration is the Tenne Lodges, a five-star hotel at the foot of the slopes, which for two days becomes the stage for one of South Tyrol's most awaited musical events.

Live music and international DJs

The Winter Opening features numerous international and local DJs alongside various live acts. The large outdoor stage, set up right in front of the Tenne Lodges, comes alive with sets ranging from classic EDM to dubstep and high-energy party sounds. As evening falls, the party continues indoors with after-parties: the ground floor of the five-star hotel transforms into the Tenne VIP Lodge, complete with a balcony overlooking the stage, a flying buffet, bottle service, and signature drinks.

World-renowned headliners

Born from a collaboration with South Tyrolean DJ Shany, the Winter Opening has raised the bar for the local event scene over the years by bringing world-famous headliners to the main stage. Artists who have performed in Ratschings include Timmy Trumpet, Felix Jaehn, and Alan Walker. This star-studded lineup has expanded the event's reputation well beyond the borders of South Tyrol.

Skiing and partying combined

The event coincides with the official inauguration of the season at the Ratschings-Jaufen ski area, one of the most popular in the Vipiteno/Sterzing and Wipptal region. During the opening days, the slopes are once again available to skiers, often with discounted rates to celebrate the start of the new season. The result is a unique combination of daytime winter sports and grand evening festivities, attracting crowds from across the province of Bolzano/Bozen and beyond.
