The historic literary award dedicated to women's writing
In Rapallo, in the Gulf of Tigullio in the province of Genoa, the Rapallo BPER Banca Award is one of the Italian literary recognitions exclusively dedicated to female authors. Promoted by the City of Rapallo in collaboration with BPER Banca, the award celebrates the best female voices in contemporary Italian literature.
The award is divided into two sections: fiction, with a prize of 5,000 euros, and non-fiction, essays, and customs, with a prize of 3,000 euros. Works published in Italian from the previous autumn are eligible, submitted by publishing houses by the deadline set in the call for entries.
The award ceremony takes place in Rapallo and attracts female writers, publishers, critics, and readers. The award represents a significant cultural event for the Riviera di Levante, capable of combining the promotion of reading with the valorization of the territory.
For 2026, the Rapallo BPER Banca Award reaches its 5th edition: submissions from publishing houses are open until August 20, 2026, and the final ceremony will be held on November 7, 2026, in Rapallo. Prizes will be awarded for the fiction section (5,000 euros) and the non-fiction, essays, and customs section (3,000 euros), reserved for the best Italian female authors with works published from autumn 2025.
Publishing house submissions due by August 20, 2026.
