The Rally di Romagna, the great MTB stage race
The Rally di Romagna MTB is one of the most loved and participated stage races of mountain bike in Italy. Born in 2011 in Riolo Terme, since 2024 it has found its home in Salsomaggiore Terme, in the province of Parma, in the heart of Emilia-Romagna. For several days, the small spa town becomes the Italian capital of off-road cycling, welcoming hundreds of bikers from all over the world.
Five stages through hills, villages and castles
The formula is the classic stage rally: five stages, each with a different degree of difficulty and constantly renewed altitude profiles. The routes cross the spectacular hills of Emilia, with continuous ups and downs through historic villages and ancient castles, with scenic passages also in the hamlet of Tabiano Terme. In total, about 250 kilometers are covered with a total elevation gain of about 7,200 meters, which can be tackled both individually and in the highly sought-after special pairs classification.
An international event
The Rally consistently attracts over 300 athletes, with a foreign participant rate exceeding 60%: they come from about twenty nations, mainly European, but also from Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, and England. This international scope makes the Rally di Romagna an important showcase for the Salsese territory and for cycling tourism in Emilia.
The Rally Village, heart of the event
The entire organization revolves around the Rally Village, set up at the Bocciofila Club in Via dei Partigiani Salsesi: this is where all stages start and finish. The area, over 200 square meters, hosts timing, bike washing, mechanical assistance, rescue services, massage area (in collaboration with Weleda), refreshment, beer point, artisanal gelato, and merchandising stands. At the end of each stage, the famous Pasta Party and gelato welcome the athletes, while massages aid muscle recovery for the next stage.
Sport and thermal wellness
Salsomaggiore Terme, known for its waters and Art Nouveau elegance, offers the ideal setting for an event that combines competitive effort and relaxation. The race is organized by Romagna Bike Grandi Eventi in collaboration with the municipal administration, and has become a fixed event at the end of May for lovers of fat-tire bikes.
Rally di Romagna — edition 2026
The 15th edition
From May 30 to June 3, 2026, Salsomaggiore Terme hosted the fifteenth edition of the Rally di Romagna MTB, confirming itself as the event's base for the third consecutive year after its historic move from Riolo Terme. Five stages with different difficulty levels and significantly renewed altitude profiles mapped out a total route of approximately 250 km and 7,200 meters of elevation gain through the hamlets and castles of the Emilian hills, with passages in the hamlet of Tabiano Terme.
The highly sought-after special pairs classification was also confirmed for 2026, alongside the individual classification, as well as all the services of the Rally Village: Pasta Party, artisanal gelato, and Weleda massages at the end of each stage.

May 30 — License Verification and Prologue
- 09:30 AM — License verification, bib and race pack collection at the Rally Village (Bocciofila Club, Via dei Partigiani Salsesi)
- 04:00 PM — Start of the Prologue, followed by the Leader's jersey presentation
May 31 — 2nd Stage
- 09:00 AM — Start of the stage, followed by the Leader's jersey presentation
June 1 — 3rd Stage
- 09:00 AM — Start of the stage, followed by the Leader's jersey presentation
June 2 — 4th Stage
- 09:00 AM — Start of the stage, followed by the Leader's jersey presentation
June 3 — Final Stage
- 09:00 AM — Start of the final stage, followed by the final awards ceremony
All stages start and finish at the Rally Village in Salsomaggiore Terme. At the end of each stage: Pasta Party, artisanal gelato, and Weleda massage service.

How to get there
By car: Fidenza exit from the A1 motorway, then SP for Salsomaggiore Terme (about 10 km). By train: Fidenza station on the Milan-Bologna line, connected to Salsomaggiore by buses and shuttles.
Registration
Registration is done online on the official website rallydiromagna.com, with individual fees and fees for the pairs category. Bibs and race packs are collected on the day of license verification, before the prologue.
Accommodation
Salsomaggiore and the nearby Tabiano Terme offer numerous accommodation facilities, many of which offer packages dedicated to Rally participants.
