About HAT Road

HAT Road is the motorcycle Marathon signed Over 2000 Riders which, in the 2026 edition, connects Viareggio to Voghera, crossing over 650 km of narrow and forgotten roads of the Tuscan-Emilian Apennines. Berceto, a village in the Parma Apennines, is the overnight stop at the center of the adventure: here the riders in the Classic category conclude the first day and set off again at dawn towards Lombardy. It is not a race, but a journey of discovery on asphalt designed for those who love adventouring.

Berceto, heart of a Marathon between Tuscany and Lombardy

On the weekend of September 26-27, 2026, the village of Berceto, in the Province of Parma (Emilia-Romagna), becomes the nerve center of HAT Road, the motorcycle Marathon organized by Over 2000 Riders. The event connects Viareggio, on the Tuscan coast, to Voghera, in the Oltrepò Pavese, along an itinerary of over 650 km of secondary roads, Apennine passes, and little-traveled hairpin bends.

What is HAT Road

HAT Road is not a competition, but a structured tourist adventure that is part of the HAT Series. The philosophy is that of the so-called "Bitumenduro": narrow roads, irregular surfaces, and challenging slopes that require the sensitivity and concentration typical of off-road riding, while always remaining 100% on asphalt and on roads open to traffic. You can also participate as a couple, with a passenger, and participation is free: you can shorten the route at any time.

The role of Berceto

Berceto, located along the historic Via Francigena at the foot of the Cisa Pass, is the overnight stop that divides the challenge in two. Riders in the Classic category arrive here at the end of the first day, after crossing the Garfagnana and the Modenese Apennines, and set off again the next day towards Voghera. For the Parma village, accustomed to the passage of motorcyclists and pilgrims, the arrival of the HAT Road caravan represents an opportunity for visibility and tourist welcome.

The categories

  • Classic: the complete Viareggio-Voghera route (approx. 650 km) in two days, with an overnight stay in Berceto.
  • Discovery: new for 2026, it offers two independent itineraries — on Saturday from Viareggio to Berceto (approx. 280 km) and on Sunday from Berceto to Voghera (approx. 300 km) — which can be tackled individually or combined.

An adventure in the Apennines

The first stage crosses the Garfagnana and the Modenese area, touching passes such as Gombitelli, Foce di Sella, Bicocca, Passo di Pradaccio, and Passo delle Radici before descending to Berceto. The second stage unfolds between Emilia, Liguria, and Oltrepò Pavese, with scenic routes towards Voghera. Those who complete the entire route respecting the checkpoints receive the "100% Marathon Prize" sticker.

HAT Road — edition 2026

The 2026 edition of HAT Road connects Viareggio to Voghera on the weekend of September 26-27, with Berceto as the overnight stop. Over 650 km of the Tuscan-Emilian Apennines for the Classic category, while the new Discovery category allows for tackling just one day. Registrations open on Over 2000 Riders.

The 2026 edition marks the debut of the new Viareggio-Voghera route with an overnight stop in Berceto (PR). The caravan departs on Saturday, September 26th, from the Tuscan coast and reaches the Parma Apennines in the evening; on Sunday the 27th, it departs again towards the Oltrepò Pavese. The formula remains that of the HAT Marathon: a tourist adventure on asphalt, not a race, with the possibility of participating with a passenger.
