Chamber music in the 18th-century garden of the historic Casa Lajolo in Piossasco
On June 28, 2026, Casa Lajolo, an elegant 18th-century residence in Piossasco, just outside Turin, opens its Italian-style garden for an evening of chamber music with the Quartetto Eos. This event is part of the concert series that brings the estate to life during the summer season and is included in the prestigious national Le Dimore del Quartetto circuit, which for years has connected young string quartets with Italy's cultural heritage sites.
Formed in 2016 at the Santa Cecilia Conservatory in Rome, the Quartetto Eos consists of Sarah Jégou-Sageman and Giacomo Del Papa on violins, Alessandro Acqui on viola, and Silvia Ancarani on cello. It is one of the most acclaimed ensembles in the Italian chamber music scene: in 2018, it received the Farulli Prize from the Italian Music Critics Association as part of the Premio Abbiati, followed by international competition awards and a discography ranging from Janáček, Mendelssohn, and Webern to rare works by Wolf-Ferrari and Sgambati. The quartet is also a featured ensemble in the European MERITA project.
Casa Lajolo is a noble residence that took its current form around the mid-18th century. Its Italian-style garden, arranged on multiple levels with boxwood hedges and a green backdrop of yew trees, is the heart of the estate and the natural setting for summer concerts. The house, open to the public for guided tours and sensory paths from April to October, is part of the Castelli Aperti circuit and the Italian Historic Houses Association (ADSI): a stop that allows you to combine listening to music with discovering a small jewel of the Piedmont region.
The Quartetto Eos concert is not just a listening experience, but an invitation to enjoy the estate's garden at sunset. After the performance, guests are invited to stay for an outdoor aperitif, a convivial tradition that has always characterized events at Casa Lajolo. A simple yet refined way to conclude the evening in the greenery, just a few kilometers from Turin.
