About Puntini Fest

Puntini Fest is a theatre festival entirely dedicated to children and young people, created by Matutateatro, which brings the villages of the Lepini Mountains to life at the end of every summer. The Sezze stop, the city where the festival was born in 2019, serves as its grand finale: for three days, the squares, theatres, and courtyards of the historic centre host performances by Italy's best youth theatre companies, alongside creative workshops, read-aloud sessions, and a specialized children's bookstore, in a festive atmosphere that involves the entire Sezze community.

A festival dedicated to childhood in the heart of the Lepini Mountains

Puntini Fest is a theatre festival entirely dedicated to the world of childhood and adolescence, conceived and organized by the Matutateatro company from Sezze, in the province of Latina. Every year, at the end of summer, the festival spends about two weeks bringing some of the best national youth theatre companies to the squares, parks, and courtyards of the Lepini Mountain villages, with the aim of introducing children—and their families—to high-quality artistic performances.

The history: from Sezze to the five Lepini municipalities

The festival was born in Sezze in 2019 as a cultural gamble by Matutateatro, a company founded by Julia Borretti and Titta Ceccano, who also serve as its artistic directors. Since 2021, the festival has become itinerant, expanding first to Bassiano and Priverno, then to Norma, and finally to Cori: today, Puntini Fest reaches five municipalities in the Lepini Mountains, transforming the hilly area of southern Lazio into a vast, widespread stage for the new generation. The 2025 edition, the seventh consecutive one, featured a total of 32 performances.

The Sezze stop, the festival's grand finale

The Sezze stop is traditionally the final and most extensive part of the festival: three days of performances during the last days of August, coinciding with the White Night (Notte Bianca) of the Sezze Summer promoted by the Municipality of Sezze. The performances take place in various locations around the town: the MAT Spazio Teatro on Via San Carlo, the company's headquarters; the scenic Piazza San Lorenzo in the historic centre; the Calabresi social centre; and other city spaces. In 2025, the Sezze public applauded, among others, the puppets of the Granteatrino of Bari, the Pinocchio performance by the Fondazione Teatro Ragazzi e Giovani of Turin, and The Little Elephant by La Baracca – Testoni Ragazzi of Bologna.

Festival performances, workshops, and bookstore

Alongside the evening shows, Puntini Fest offers a rich schedule of free side activities every afternoon:

  • Creative workshops for children and teenagers, starting at 5:30 PM;
  • Read-aloud sessions and meetings with authors and illustrators;
  • The festival bookstore, specializing in children's publishing, curated in collaboration with Libreria Anacleto;
  • Games and entertainment in the squares of the historic centre.

Tickets for the shows are intentionally affordably priced (5 euros in recent editions), while most activities are free to enter: a deliberate choice to make theatre accessible to all families.

Matutateatro and the MAT Spazio Teatro

Matutateatro is one of the most active theatre organizations in the province of Latina: in addition to Puntini Fest, it manages the MAT Spazio Teatro in Sezze and the Municipal Theatre of Priverno, offering prose seasons, original productions, and a theatre school. The festival is supported by the National Fund for Live Performance of the Ministry of Culture, the Lazio Region—including through the Officina Culturale dei Monti Lepini project—and the host municipalities.

Why visit

Puntini Fest is a rare opportunity in the landscape of southern Lazio: a festival truly designed for children, without sacrificing artistic quality. Attending an outdoor performance in Piazza San Lorenzo, among the stones of Sezze's historic centre, is a special way to end the summer with the family while discovering one of the most authentic villages in the Lepini Mountains.

Puntini Fest — edition 2026

Puntini Fest will return to Sezze in 2026: Matutateatro's children's and youth theatre festival is among the confirmed events in the 2026 Sezze Summer program presented by the Municipality of Sezze, which includes over 40 events from June to September. The exact dates for the Sezze stop have not yet been published: in recent editions, the festival concluded its Lepini tour in Sezze during the last days of August, coinciding with the White Night on August 29, where Piazza San Lorenzo and Via San Carlo will host a space dedicated to children curated together with Puntini Fest.

Puntini Fest 2026 in Sezze: the return is confirmed

The Municipality of Sezze has included Puntini Fest among the festivals returning to the 2026 Sezze Summer program, the summer schedule featuring over 40 events including music, culture, art, and traditions. The theatre festival for children and young people created by Matutateatro is expected to visit the Lepini Mountain municipalities as usual, concluding in Sezze at the end of August, but the official dates for the Sezze stop have not yet been announced.

A first appointment is already known: on the occasion of the White Night on Saturday, August 29, 2026, Piazza San Lorenzo and Via San Carlo will host a space dedicated to children with theatre, entertainment, shows, and street artists, curated by the La Macchia Association and Puntini Fest. The complete program for the Sezze stop will be published by the organization in the weeks leading up to the festival on Matutateatro's channels.
