Priverno Cycle Tour – Pisolo Day

A cycle tour that has become a local festival

The Priverno Cycle Tour – Pisolo Day is now one of the most anticipated events in the central Italian cycling calendar. Organized by ASD Pisolo Bike with the support of the Municipality of Priverno, in the province of Latina (Lazio), it is traditionally held on June 2nd, with the sports village opening on the eve of the event in the Parco del Castello di San Martino. This is not a race: it is a collective, non-competitive ride, open to those who prefer the joy of slow-paced exertion and scenery over the stopwatch.

Routes through the Lepini Mountains and medieval villages

Each edition offers three completely renewed routes, ranging from approximately 18 to 45 kilometers, designed to accommodate both experienced bikers and those tackling their first group ride. In the 2026 edition, the long endurance-style track measured 43.5 km with about 1,025 meters of elevation gain, while the medium route covered 30.2 km with 657 meters of elevation gain; a third shorter and easier loop completed the offering.

More than just mountain biking

The Pisolo Day is inherently inclusive: alongside the MTB cycle tour, there is a 10-kilometer walk, which has been joined over the years by trekking and nordic walking, with a race bib and meal voucher included. The village hosts activities for children — from a play circuit to MTB Kids trials — ensuring the day is a true family outing rather than just a gathering for specialists.

Music, food, and the sports village

The eve of the ride is dedicated to celebration: the village opens in the late afternoon with entertainment, DJ sets, and live concerts featuring local bands playing until late at night. The food area offers a selection of local products, from cured meats to Lepini cheeses, and remains one of the reasons why many participants arrive a day early and stay overnight in the area.

Sport funding solidarity

The hallmark of the event is its charitable mission: all proceeds are donated to solidarity initiatives coordinated by the Municipality of Priverno. A previous edition donated approximately 2,800 euros to local projects. It is this formula — popular sport combined with giving back to the community — that has driven registration growth year after year, leading to a sell-out with about 900 participants registered in 2026, exceeding the planned cap of 800 bibs.

A recognized event

The cycle tour is part of national mountain bike circuits and is a valid event for the ACSI Italian team MTB cycle touring championship, attracting groups and teams from various regions to Priverno. Traditional incentives include a rich race pack reserved for early registrants — technical jersey, gilet, thermal water bottle, backpack — and a final raffle for an e-bike among all participants.

Priverno is a village in the Lepini Mountains located a short distance from the Fossanova Abbey, one of the Gothic-Cistercian masterpieces of Lazio. Participating in the Pisolo Day means discovering by bike an inland area that visitors to the Pontine coast often overlook: gravel roads, olive groves, small historic centers, and local hospitality where community volunteering is an integral part of the day's success.
