The cultural village of Rome Pride at the Baths of Caracalla
Pride Croisette is the major cultural village accompanying Rome Pride, the most anticipated event for the capital's LGBTQIA+ community. For nearly a month, the monumental Baths of Caracalla, located in the heart of Rome overlooking the Circus Maximus, become an open-air space spanning over eight thousand square meters where music, entertainment, culture, and civil advocacy intertwine every night. Admission is completely free and open to the entire city.
Organized by the Circolo di Cultura Omosessuale Mario Mieli, the Croisette is part of the historic summer festival Jazz & Image, offering a program that ranges from concerts to book presentations, queer cinema to theater, and stand-up comedy to DJ sets. Each day begins in the late afternoon and continues late into the night, alternating between moments of reflection and evenings of pure fun.
The musical programming is one of the event's highlights, featuring live concerts, live formats, and, for the first time, a selection of jazz concerts in dialogue with Jazz & Image. The venue also hosts the Queer Pictures festival, with numerous events dedicated to contemporary queer cinema, alongside theatrical performances, comedy, and shows that showcase the richness of the rainbow cultural scene.
Beyond the performances, the Croisette serves as a major forum for discussion: talks and debates address themes such as civil rights, labor, health, inclusive language, and rainbow families, featuring intellectuals, activists, and figures from Italian politics. As night falls, the space transforms with the help of Rome's historic queer nightlife scene, making Pride Croisette a symbol of the city's clubbing culture.
In the city of Rome, the capital of Lazio, Pride Croisette has become a staple of the city's summer and one of the flagship events in the Italian Pride calendar. The unique setting of the Baths of Caracalla, one of ancient Rome's most impressive archaeological complexes, offers an evocative backdrop that blends historical memory with contemporary life, culture, and celebration, culminating in the grand final parade through the streets of the capital.
