An award that tells the story of Termoli

The Premio Gente di Mare is the commendation that the Municipality of Termoli (Province of Campobasso) reserves each year for the people of Termoli who have most distinguished themselves in their respective professional fields and in the life of the community. Established at the end of the eighties, it is one of the most heartfelt recognitions in the city, linked to maritime culture and local identity.

On the patron saint's day

The ceremony takes place on December 5th, on the day dedicated to the patron saint San Basso, at the Auditorium in Via Elba, in front of a large audience of citizens. Fishermen, artists, athletes, associations, representatives of law enforcement, and deserving students take turns on stage: a mosaic that tells the story of the city in all its components.

The Premio Gente di Mare celebrates not only the big names, but above all those who, with their daily work, bring value to Termoli: from the fisherman to the volunteer, from the artisan to the student.
