The Land Art residency in the woods of Coredo, Val di Non
Predaia Arte e Natura is a permanent art project located in the "Alla Torre" Park, in the village of Coredo, the heart of the Predaia municipality in Val di Non (Autonomous Province of Trento, Trentino-Alto Adige region). Along a gentle, accessible loop trail nestled among pines and larches, a true open-air gallery unfolds: over forty wooden sculptures and four large art installations capture the gaze of those walking through the woods, turning a stroll into a journey through hidden magic.
The 2026 Land Art Artistic Residency takes place from June 22nd to July 1st, 2026. Through an open call for national and international artists and collectives, the project has selected three new site-specific works designed in direct dialogue with the natural landscape. The installations use natural, sustainable, or low-impact materials and are evaluated based on their ability to establish an authentic and meaningful relationship with the woodland setting.
The 2026 Land Art theme allows for creative freedom, with a focus on proposals that interpret and enhance the allure of mystery, magic, and the fantastic. This theme is deeply rooted in the local history: during the 17th century, Coredo was tragically at the center of the Anaunia Inquisition trials, which led to the condemnation of several people accused of witchcraft. Today, the project reinterprets those stories in a contemporary, poetic, and at times playful way.
The route is designed for families, children, and people with reduced mobility: a loop trail without significant elevation changes that connects the "Alla Torre" Park to the evocative "Viale dei Sogni" (Avenue of Dreams) and the small lakes of Tavon and Coredo. The artworks are strategically distributed throughout the woods, creating contemplative islands immersed in nature. Access to the trail is free and open all year round.
The "Predaia Arte e Natura" project is multidisciplinary and also includes the International Wood Sculpture Symposium (which usually takes place every summer in August, bringing new sculptures to the shores of Lake Coredo), a photo contest, a short story literary prize, and personal exhibitions hosted at Casa da Marta and the former Town Hall of Coredo. The cultural evenings accompanying the editions are inspired by the themes of the UN 2030 Agenda, combining art, nature, and sustainability.
The initiative is promoted by the Municipality of Predaia with the support of the local ASUC, the Cassa Rurale Val di Non, the Autonomous Province of Trento, the Trentino-Alto Adige Region, and the Val di Non Tourist Board.
From June 22nd to July 1st, 2026, the Coredo woods hosted the Land Art Artistic Residency of Predaia Arte e Natura. The three new works, selected through an open call (deadline April 30, 2026) for national and international artists and collectives, were created site-specific using natural, sustainable, or low-impact materials.
The theme of the edition highlighted the allure of mystery, magic, and the fantastic, in dialogue with the history of the 17th-century Anaunia Inquisition and the landscape of Val di Non. The installations joined the more than forty wooden sculptures and four installations that make up the open-air gallery of the "Alla Torre" Park.
Land Art Residency from June 22 to July 1, 2026: on-site creation of three new site-specific works selected through an international call, on the theme of mystery, magic, and fantasy. The works are integrated into the permanent trail accessible to everyone in the Coredo woods.
The "Alla Torre" Park and the Predaia Arte e Natura trail are located in Coredo, a village in Predaia, Val di Non. By car: from the A22 Brenner motorway, take the San Michele all'Adige/Mezzocorona exit, then follow the SS43 towards Val di Non until you reach Coredo. By train: the Trento-Malè railway stops at stations in the valley, with bus connections to Coredo.
Access to the trail and the Land Art works is free and open, and can be explored independently all year round. The loop trail is suitable for families and people with reduced mobility.
