Music embracing the sea at the Porto Museo in Tricase
This edition has not been confirmed by the organiser to date. We recommend checking before going.
Portus Veneris Fest is a music series that brings summer to life in Tricase, in the province of Lecce, in the heart of the most authentic Salento. The name pays homage to the ancient Portus Veneris, the harbor that sailors of old recognized along this coast on the eastern side of Italy's heel. Today, that basin, nestled between cliffs and ancient towers, becomes a natural stage where live music blends with the sound of the waves.
Organized by the City of Tricase as part of the "Tricase Emozioni a Levante" summer program, the festival follows a clear philosophy: to enhance the tangible and intangible assets of the territory through the beauty of its locations and the richness of its local talent. Rather than a lineup of imported big names, this is a celebration that brings home the artists whom Tricase and Salento nurtured and supported, and who now work as professionals on stages across the globe.
The festival is divided into several events that take advantage of the most stunning views of the Tricase coastline. On one hand, intimate sunset evenings at Marina Serra, set against the backdrop of the 16th-century Torre Palane, designed as refined and collected sonic dialogues. On the other, the grand nocturnal event in the basin of Tricase Porto, the famous Porto Museo, where music continues from evening until well past dawn in an atmosphere that combines concerts, DJ sets, and artistic performances.
Tricase is one of the iconic towns of the Capo di Leuca, the extreme tip of Puglia where the Adriatic meets the Ionian Sea. Its harbor, with its traditional fishermen's buildings and the large ancient ficus tree, has become a cultural and environmental landmark over the years. Portus Veneris Fest fits perfectly into this vocation: a free-admission event that weaves together music, the sea, and community identity, offering residents and visitors a different way to experience Salento's summer nights, far from the more commercial circuits of the coastal nightlife.
Those who come to Tricase for the festival find much more than a concert: they find a landscape, a history of millennial navigation, and a surprisingly vibrant local music scene capable of producing artists who have traveled from this small Salento port to international stages.
At the moment, the City of Tricase has not yet published the dates and program for the 2026 edition of Portus Veneris Fest. Based on previous editions, the festival is expected to take place between late July and early August, featuring sunset evenings at Marina Serra and the grand night event in the Tricase Porto basin. The detailed program, including the list of artists and schedules, will be announced by the organizers through the official channels of the Municipality of Tricase.
The festival takes place at two main hubs along the Tricase (LE) coastline: Marina Serra, near Torre Palane, for the sunset events, and the Tricase Porto basin (Porto Museo) for the night event.
Tricase can be reached by car via the SS275, continuing from the Maglie-Leuca expressway; the seaside districts of Tricase Porto and Marina Serra are just a few kilometers from the town center. The most convenient train station is Tricase on the Ferrovie del Sud Est line. In summer, it is recommended to arrive early to secure parking in the harbor area.
Admission to all Portus Veneris Fest events is free.
The event is promoted by the City of Tricase as part of the "Tricase Emozioni a Levante" program. For updated dates and programs, please consult the official channels of the Municipality of Tricase.
