Portami Fuori! is a cultural project that brings theatre, cinema, and storytelling out of traditional venues and into the peripheral districts of the Capital. Conceived and directed by the Compagnia Teatrale Carmentalia, the project was launched in 2025 as a winner of the Roma Creativa 365. Culture all year round call for proposals, promoted by Rome Capital with Zètema Progetto Cultura. Artistic direction is curated by Giulio Forges Davanzati, Alessia Sorbello, and Andrea Trovato.
Activities take place in two local cultural hubs: the QuindiLab at Via Antonio Patti 5, in the heart of Primavalle (Municipality XIV), and the Cinema Atlantic at Via Tuscolana 745, in the Tuscolano and Don Bosco area (Municipality VII). These two poles of the Roman periphery become spaces for meeting, listening, and participation, restoring centrality to territories often on the margins of the city's narrative.
The program alternates different languages with a common thread: giving a voice to those experiencing situations of fragility and marginality. Key offerings include:
More than just a festival, Portami Fuori! is a participatory experience: residents are not just spectators but protagonists of the workshops and narratives. The goal is to build bonds, enhance local stories, and use art as a tool for inclusion. All events are free to attend with mandatory reservation.
The project is part of the rich cultural landscape of the Municipality of Rome, in the Lazio Region, and follows the tradition of community theatre experiences that animate the city's suburbs. Portami Fuori! tells the story of a less touristy and more authentic Rome, that of Municipalities XIV and VII, where culture becomes a social safeguard and an opportunity for encounter between people and generations.
The Portami Fuori! project debuted in 2025 as a winner of the Roma Creativa 365 call by Rome Capital, featuring theatre workshops, podcasts, screenings, and audio performances dedicated to social inclusion in the Capital's peripheral districts. A potential 2026 edition has not yet been announced by the Compagnia Teatrale Carmentalia. Information on dates and the program will be published here as soon as it becomes available.
