The festival that gives a voice to the writing and expressive arts of the Canavese region
Pont d'Autore - Local Authors Festival is a new cultural event debuting in Pont Canavese, a town in the Metropolitan City of Turin nestled at the gateway to the Orco and Soana Valleys, in Piedmont. Promoted by the Municipality of Pont Canavese in collaboration with the Ruffini Civic Library, the festival was born with a clear vision: to promote the artistic and literary production of the Canavese territory and provide a concrete platform for those who write, tell stories, and create in this land of mountains and tradition.
The festival is linked to the Maestria Canavesana project, which focuses on authors residing in the Canavese area. Fiction, poetry, non-fiction, and other expressive forms consistent with the spirit of the event find a shared stage here. More than just a review, Pont d'Autore aims to be a community moment where the public meets authors directly, listens to their words, and engages in conversation with them.
The format is that of an intimate and intense day, hosted at the Salone Polivalente on Via Soana 32. The program alternates between book presentations, public readings, and moments of discussion, with the goal of fostering dialogue between writing, expressive arts, and community life. It is an opportunity to discover both new and established voices from the Canavese and to rediscover the pleasure of shared reading in a welcoming, intimate setting.
Hosting a literary festival in Pont Canavese means bringing culture to the heart of a village with an ancient vocation, the gateway to the alpine valleys of Gran Paradiso. The event is part of a lively municipal cultural calendar, animated by the Ruffini Civic Library and local associations such as Tellanda, Canteir, and the SOMS, who all contribute to the event's success. For those visiting the province of Turin who love to combine nature and culture, Pont d'Autore is one more reason to head up into the Canavese.
The inaugural edition of Pont d'Autore kicked off on Saturday, May 16, 2026, from 2:30 PM at the Salone Polivalente in Pont Canavese. The event, promoted by the Municipality and the Ruffini Civic Library with the collaboration of the Tellanda, Canteir, and SOMS associations, brought together authors residing in the Canavese territory for a day of book presentations, readings, and dialogue with the public. Participation was reserved, following a public notice with a deadline of March 4, 2026, for adult authors from the Canavese area with works of fiction, poetry, non-fiction, and other expressive forms consistent with the festival's goals.
The festival took place over a single day, Saturday, May 16, 2026, starting at 2:30 PM at the Salone Polivalente on Via Soana 32.
The detailed list of participating authors and presented works was not published online by the organizers.
