As the end of June approaches, the village of La Nave, in the municipality of Castiglion Fiorentino (Province of Arezzo), becomes the beating heart of the local summer. The Pizza Festival is a traditional event that, year after year, attracts foodies and dance enthusiasts from all over the area. Organized with passion by the volunteers of the MCL La Nave club, it is one of those authentic village festivals that still manage to keep alive the social spirit and sense of community typical of the Tuscan countryside.

Pizza, craft beer, and much more

The undisputed star is, of course, the pizza, served hot every evening from the food stand, which opens its doors at 7:00 PM. Alongside classic margheritas and richer options, the festival offers a selection of craft beers designed to perfectly accompany summer evenings. The menu goes beyond pizza: the club's kitchen serves traditional dishes that change nightly, in a family-friendly atmosphere that is accessible to all budgets.

Ballroom dancing under the stars

The true trademark of the Pizza Festival, however, is the ballroom dancing. Every evening after dinner, the dance floor fills up to the sound of the orchestras that animate the Valdichiana: recent editions have featured names such as Trial Band, Musica Solare, Valerio e Laura, Manuel Mazzetti, Annesa Band, and the Orchestra Sarabanda. It is a highly anticipated event for the many local ballroom dance enthusiasts, who find here one of the most popular dance floors in the Arezzo area.

A festival for the whole family

The Pizza Festival is also designed for families: children have a dedicated play area where they can have fun in safety while the adults dine or dance. The outdoor setting, nestled in the Valdichiana countryside, offers cool and pleasant evenings, perfect for an evening trip to discover the gastronomic and popular traditions of Tuscany.

Two weekends of celebration

The event takes place over two consecutive weekends between June and July, offering multiple opportunities to participate. The village of La Nave is located just minutes from the historic center of Castiglion Fiorentino and is easily accessible from the Valdichiana: a great chance to discover an authentic corner of the province of Arezzo far from the main tourist circuits.
