PietrarubbiaEstate – Festival del Montefeltro is the summer cultural review hosted in the castle-village of Pietrarubbia, a small municipality in the Province of Pesaro and Urbino nestled in the heart of Montefeltro, in northern Marche. The festival takes place within the ancient red stone walls that give the town its name, on a rocky spur at the foot of Mount Carpegna, in a setting that blends historical heritage and Apennine nature.

Organization and identity

The event is promoted by the Valmarecchia Music District, an entity that has managed the Pietrarubbia Castle Village since 2016, with the patronage and collaboration of the Municipality of Pietrarubbia and the Marche Region. Born as "Festival del Montefeltro" and grown over time, the review transforms the village into a widespread stage for several weeks, enhancing a place steeped in history that also houses museum spaces dedicated to ceramics and contemporary art, with a tribute to the figure of Arnaldo Pomodoro.

The program

The festival's program is multidisciplinary and runs throughout the summer, typically from July to September. Among the types of events that characterize the review are:

• Concerts of classical, jazz, and singer-songwriter music in the courtyards and castle spaces;
• Opera concerts and moments dedicated to bel canto, with solo voices accompanied by instruments;
• Open-air film screenings and docu-films under the stars;
• Historical reenactments and medieval settings by costumed groups, with ancient music;
• Cultural meetings, presentations, and conversations on contemporary themes;
• Themed dinners and convivial moments inspired by the history and culture of the territory.
