International jazz among the squares and alleys of the ducal city
Urbino Plays Jazz is the jazz festival that enlivens the historic center of Urbino, in the Marche region, in the Province of Pesaro and Urbino, every summer. Organized by the Associazione Urbino Jazz Club, active since 2014 in promoting the musical culture of the area, the festival has earned a prominent place in the Marche and national jazz scene, bringing major international artists to the city alongside the best Italian talents.
The heart of the event is Piazza Rinascimento, at the foot of the Ducal Palace, but the music spreads through the alleys and small squares of the historic center, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Walking through Urbino during the festival means stumbling upon concerts, street music, and improvisations in every corner: jazz leaves conventional venues and blends with the architecture and atmosphere of Raphael's city.
One of the distinctive features of Urbino Plays Jazz is the free admission to all concerts, a choice that makes great music accessible to everyone and attracts audiences from all over the Marche region and beyond each year. The festival thus confirms itself not only as a quality musical event but also as an opportunity to experience Urbino in one of its most vibrant seasons.
The 11th edition of Urbino Plays Jazz will take place in Urbino from July 31 to August 2, 2026, confirming the free admission formula for all concerts. As tradition dictates, the main stage will be Piazza Rinascimento, with music spreading through the alleys and small squares of the ducal city. The festival will host internationally renowned artists alongside protagonists of the Italian jazz scene.
The detailed program with the complete lineup has not yet been published: it will be announced by the Associazione Urbino Jazz Club on the official website and social media channels in the weeks preceding the event.
