Piazza dell'Arte is one of the most anticipated events of the spring in Messina: a festival that, for one night, illuminates the central courtyard of the University of Messina and the famous Rectorate Staircase with music, colour, and talent. Promoted by the Associazione Morgana in collaboration with Orum and Azione Universitaria, and supported by ERSU and the University of Messina, the festival turns one of the city's most symbolic landmarks into a grand open-air theatre.
A stage for emerging artists
The heart of the evening is the showcase for young talent: bands, soloists, dance groups, theatre companies, jugglers, and street performers take turns on stage, offering a varied and engaging programme. The event was created to provide a concrete opportunity for those who make art a way of life, connecting local youth with the city's audience. Over the years, Piazza dell'Arte has grown to become a benchmark for the youth artistic scene in Messina and its province.
More than just music
The festival is not limited to concerts. Location

How to get there
The university area is just a few minutes' walk from the Messina central train station. By car, take the Messina Centro motorway exit (A20/A18); parking is available near the city centre. The city is accessible by train and via the Strait ferry connections from Villa San Giovanni.
