Europe's largest plant pop-up sale hosted within the historic walls of Forte Trionfale
For an entire weekend, the historic grounds of Forte Trionfale in Rome's Trionfale district will be filled with lush foliage, vibrant colors, and the scent of fresh earth. Piantala! is Europe's largest plant pop-up sale: over 15,000 plants of more than 350 different varieties will take over the 1,500 square meters of the Fort, turning it into a true green paradise in the heart of the Capital.
This is more than just a market: Piantala is an immersive experience designed for those living in apartments, with limited space, or who are convinced they lack a green thumb. The species on offer are specifically selected for city livingโresilient and easy to care forโso that anyone can bring a piece of nature home.
Founded in 2025 with the goal of bringing greenery where you least expect it, Piantala Club has already visited Milan, Bologna, Turin, Florence, Trieste, Brescia, and Rome, welcoming around 70,000 visitors in its first year. For 2026, the tour expands with dozens of stops across Italy: the Forte Trionfale event marks the first Roman date of the new season. Piantala operates as a Benefit Corporation, focusing on urban reforestation, social inclusion, and environmental awareness projects.
Alongside the sale of plants, pots, and accessories, the program features a packed schedule of botanical labs and workshops: from yoga among the plants to green tarot readings, color analysis, pottery, kokedama, semi-hydroponics, terrariums, and basic plant care. There is also a special session powered by LUSH to handcraft natural skincare products.
The cultural heart of the event is the "Transforming the City into a Jungle" conference, scheduled for Saturday afternoon, bringing together green experts, institutional representatives, and local associations to discuss how to make Rome more nature-friendly. The soundtrack is provided by DJ sets and live music, while a food & drink area completes the experience.
With its pop, ironic, and original approach, Piantala introduces botany to a broad and diverse audience, from families to young plant enthusiasts. Hosted in Rome's Municipio XIV, in the Trionfale district just a stone's throw from Monte Mario, the event combines the city's desire for greenery with a weekend of social connection, culture, and sustainability.
As the first Roman stop of the 2026 Piantala Club tour, the Forte Trionfale edition animated the Trionfale district for three days with over 15,000 plants of more than 350 varieties. Alongside the sale, a rich program of botanical labs, creative workshops, live music by Animal Social Club, and a food & drink area. The central moment was the Saturday afternoon conference dedicated to urban greenery in the Capital.
Forte Trionfale is located at Via Trionfale 7400, in Rome's Trionfale district (Municipio XIV), north of the city center. By metro, take Line A (Cipro or Battistini stops) and continue with surface buses along Via Trionfale; numerous bus lines serve the area. Those arriving by car should consider traffic restrictions and limited parking availability.
Admission is free but requires mandatory booking on the website piantalaclub.it. Experiences and workshops are paid. The event is cashless: payments are accepted only via card or digital tools; cash is not accepted.
We recommend arriving early: plant availability decreases as Sunday approaches, when the most sought-after varieties tend to sell out. Bring a sturdy bag to carry your new plants home.
