A village festival dedicated to the gift of giving

Piano di Mommio Festival is the event that transforms the small hillside village of Piano di Mommio into a lively gathering spot every year at the start of summer. Located in the municipality of Massarosa, in the province of Lucca, it sits in the heart of the Tuscan Versilia, just a few kilometers from the coastal beaches and the hills overlooking Lake Massaciuccoli.

The festival is organized by the Fratres Blood Donor Group of Piano di Mommio, an association that has been promoting the culture of blood donation in the area for years. Consequently, the event has a dual spirit: on one hand, the conviviality typical of village festivals, and on the other, raising awareness about health, solidarity, and support for the vulnerable.

Gastronomy, music, and entertainment

The beating heart of the festival is the food stand, open every evening with the flavors of the Versilia and Tuscan tradition. A rich entertainment program unfolds around the table, which, edition after edition, has featured:

• musical evenings, DJ sets, and tribute shows;
• performances by local dance schools;
• singing competitions and fashion initiatives;
• spaces dedicated to children with inflatables and face painting.

There is no shortage of sporting events, such as the traditional mountain bike excursion and lighthearted competitions involving both adults and children, in an atmosphere of healthy rivalry and joy.

Health, sport, and inclusion

True to its mission, the Fratres group dedicates ample space to themes of health and inclusion: first aid courses and demonstrations on the use of defibrillators, initiatives related to disability, and moments designed to involve the entire community. The festival thus becomes an opportunity to spend time together while also learning life-saving skills.

A tradition of the Lucca Versilia

From a simple neighborhood party, Piano di Mommio Festival has grown into a fixed appointment on the Massarosa summer calendar, capable of attracting visitors from neighboring villages and the entire Versilia region. The charm of the event lies in its authentic and popular character, where the volunteer work of the Fratres donors meets the festive spirit of an entire village.
