Run where history meets nature
The Perugia Eco Marathon is a running event organized by A.P.D. Ponte Felcino for the Municipality of Perugia. Its slogan—"run where history meets nature"—perfectly captures the spirit of the event: routes that wind through the hills and trails of the Perugia region, passing through places of natural and historical interest, including the ancient medieval aqueduct of Perugia.
The event offers three competitive races of increasing length, plus a non-competitive option, to welcome both the most trained marathon runners and trail running and power walking enthusiasts. The races start from the historic center of the Umbrian capital, offering athletes a unique panorama between the acropolis and the countryside.
As the name suggests, the event has a strong environmental focus and aims to promote the landscape of Perugia and Umbria through running, fostering a constant dialogue between sporting activity and respect for nature.
The 1st edition of the Perugia Eco Marathon was held on May 1st and 2nd, 2026, organized by A.P.D. Ponte Felcino for the Municipality of Perugia. On Friday, May 1st, the Expo and bib collection were set up; on Saturday, May 2nd, the races took place starting from the historic center.
The program included three competitive distances — the Perugia Eco Marathon, the Neviere Trail, and the Serena Trail — on routes that traverse the hills of Perugia and the ancient 13th-century medieval aqueduct, as well as a non-competitive event.
The routes pass through natural trails and the medieval aqueduct of Perugia. Rules (Regolamento-PEM-2026.pdf) and details at perugiaecomarathon.com.
