The summer night in the medieval village of the Pescara province
This edition has not been confirmed by the organiser to date. We recommend checking before going.
The Penne White Night is one of the most anticipated events of the summer in this medieval village in the province of Pescara, in the heart of the Vestina area of Abruzzo. For one night, usually during the first weekend of August, the historic center of Penne stays lit and lively until late: shops remain open, stages are set up in the squares, street artists perform, and thousands of people stroll through the red-brick alleys that make this town one of the most distinctive in the region.
The festival unfolds along the main arteries of the village: Corso Alessandrini, Viale San Francesco, Largo San Francesco, Viale Ringa, and Piazza Luca da Penne, extending to the Belvedere area and the Villa Comunale. Each zone hosts a different type of entertainment: concerts and DJ sets in the main squares, roving performances through the streets, and areas dedicated to children and sports in the public gardens. This widespread format allows visitors to experience the entire town as one large open-air stage.
The typical program alternates live music, DJ sets, group and Caribbean dancing, dance performances, stilt walkers, jugglers, magicians, and street entertainment. There is no shortage of craft and charity markets, ceramic exhibitions, and tastings of local wines and gastronomic products, with local merchants and town associations playing a leading role in the organization alongside the Municipality of Penne and the Pro Loco.
Penne, nicknamed the "city of red bricks," is a medieval jewel in the province of Pescara that deserves to be discovered during the White Night: its churches, historic palaces, and cobblestone streets provide the perfect backdrop for a popular festival that celebrates local heritage and supports local commerce. It is the perfect opportunity to combine a cultural stroll with the fun of a summer evening in Abruzzo.
The dates for the 2026 edition of the Penne White Night have not yet been announced. Based on previous editions, the event usually takes place on an early August evening in the historic center of the medieval village in the province of Pescara.
The detailed program, featuring concerts, DJ sets, roving performances, markets, and tastings, will be published by the Municipality of Penne and the organizing associations in the weeks preceding the event. This page will be updated as soon as official information becomes available.
