The popular festival of the San Vittore community in Ravenna, between faith, solidarity, and good food
The Parish Festival of Saint Victor is the popular festival that every year brings together the community of San Vittore e Compagni Martiri, a parish in Ravenna located at via Narsete 30, in the Municipality of Ravenna (Province of Ravenna, Emilia-Romagna). It is an event deeply rooted in the neighborhood: for a few days, the churchyard, the community hall, and the parish spaces are filled with people, amidst shared meals, music, and moments of prayer.
Like all traditional parish festivals in Romagna, the event originates from the community's religious dimension and retains its core. The parish is dedicated to Saint Victor and Companion Martyrs, figures linked to the early Christian history of Ravenna, and the festival accompanies liturgical celebrations with Holy Mass and prayer moments that mark the days. Alongside the spiritual dimension, the festival is also an occasion for families, the elderly, and catechism children to gather.
The true driving force of the festival is the gastronomic stand, run by numerous parish volunteers. It is one of the most appreciated aspects of the event: dishes from Romagna cuisine and convivial offerings served in company, in a familiar and welcoming atmosphere. The parish kitchen also serves as a tool for solidarity, as the proceeds support the community's activities and social initiatives promoted by the parish.
The San Vittore community has always been attentive to social and welcoming initiatives: the community hall named after Antonio Sellitto has become a place for sharing over the years, also open to external groups, used for meetings, musical evenings, and volunteer activities. Under the guidance of the parish priest Don Claudio Giorgioni, parish priest of San Vittore since 2014, the festival combines moments of celebration with concrete support for those in need.
More than a large city event, the Festival of San Vittore is a village festival within the city: an opportunity to meet neighbors, rediscover the value of community, and share evenings of music, good food, and fellowship in the heart of Ravenna.
The Parish Festival of Saint Victor returned to Ravenna from June 4 to 7, 2026, enlivening the community of via Narsete for four days of celebration.
