The major international jazz review at Sala Paradiso in San Lazzaro di Savena
The Paradiso Jazz Festival is one of the most beloved jazz events in the Bologna area. It takes place in San Lazzaro di Savena, in the province of Bologna, at the historic Sala Paradiso of Circolo Arci San Lazzaro, on Via Bellaria 7. For eighteen editions, the review has brought world-famous artists to Emilia-Romagna, transforming a neighborhood venue into a reference stage for jazz and fusion.
The festival is organized by Circolo Arci San Lazzaro, in collaboration with Arci Bologna, under the artistic direction of flutist Marco Coppi. The editorial choice is clear: few concerts, but of the highest caliber, capable of creating a dialogue between the great icons of the international scene and the most attentive audience. Despite the presence of world-class musicians, ticket prices remain intentionally low to keep jazz accessible to everyone.
What makes this review special is its intimate scale: Sala Paradiso is a cozy space with assigned seating, where the audience can experience the concert just a few meters from the artists. Before the show, starting at 7:30 PM, you can book dinner in the adjacent Sala 77, turning the evening into a complete experience that combines good food and great music.
Over the years, the review has hosted some of the most renowned guitarists, saxophonists, drummers, and double bassists in the jazz-fusion scene, alongside international stars and emerging young Italian talents. It is an event that every spring attracts enthusiasts from Bologna and all over Emilia-Romagna, consolidating itself as one of the cornerstones of the region's musical calendar.
The Paradiso Jazz Festival today represents a virtuous example of how an Arci club can become a valuable cultural hub, capable of combining local community engagement with international-level programming.
The eighteenth edition of the Paradiso Jazz Festival animated the spring of 2026 in San Lazzaro di Savena, in the province of Bologna, with a top-tier lineup under the artistic direction of Marco Coppi. All concerts were held at Sala Paradiso of Circolo Arci San Lazzaro, starting at 9:30 PM, with the usual option for dinner at 7:30 PM in Sala 77.
The festival opened with the young pianist Francesco Cavestri and closed with a tribute to world fusion, confirming its commitment to uniting great international masters and new generations of Italian jazz.
