Four days of music, art, and street culture in the Kapuzinergarten of Chiusa
This edition has not been confirmed by the organiser to date. We recommend checking before going.
The OtRo MuNdO Music, Art & Culture Festival is one of the most original cultural events in the South Tyrol summer. Every year, for four days in early August, the picturesque village of Chiusa/Klausen in the province of Bolzano comes alive with live music, participatory art, and street culture. The festival's headquarters is the historic Kapuzinergarten (Capuchin Garden), but the event also spills out onto the promenade and the alleys of the old town, turning public space into a sprawling, open-air stage.
The festival is organized by the Amikaro association, a local non-profit dedicated to cultural promotion and international solidarity. Since its first edition in 2021, OtRo MuNdO has established itself as a grassroots movement that celebrates street life and the activation of shared spaces through art. It is an explicitly inclusive festival where everyone is welcome, and where associations, artists, and visitors meet to exchange ideas and spark new initiatives. Each edition also adopts a symbolic spirit animal to raise public awareness about threatened local biodiversity.
The beating heart of OtRo MuNdO is its musical lineup, which brings about a dozen national and international artists to the Kapuzinergarten stages, covering diverse genres: rock, hip-hop, ska, folk, pop, and world music, with excursions into Latin American sounds. Alongside the main concerts, the Jamstage is open for spontaneous musical contributions, while the intimate OtRo MuNdO Sessions offer special, unique versions of the guest musicians' repertoires.
Beyond music, the festival offers a rich side program for all ages: open-air artist workshops, live painting sessions, circus performances, creative labs, and a flea market, the OtRo Mercantino, featuring fashion, accessories, and unique second-hand items. Urban sports are also a major feature:
The culinary offerings focus on organic and regional street food, in line with the event's sustainable philosophy. Entry is by free donation: the funds raised support the association's activities and local projects, such as the permanent mural created in 2023.
With its formula blending culture, social commitment, and environmental awareness, OtRo MuNdO has become a defining event for Chiusa/Klausen and the Trentino-South Tyrol region, attracting both locals and visitors. The festival gives a voice to an alternative, transcultural art scene set against the stunning backdrop of the South Tyrolean mountains.
At the moment, the dates for the 2026 edition of the OtRo MuNdO Festival have not yet been officially announced by the Amikaro association. The festival is traditionally held in early August in the Kapuzinergarten of Chiusa/Klausen, featuring live concerts, circus performances, artist workshops, a flea market, and organic street food. The detailed program will be communicated on the official channels of the association and the Chiusa tourist office in the weeks leading up to the event.
The festival takes place in the Kapuzinergarten and along the promenade of the historic center of Chiusa/Klausen (BZ), in South Tyrol.
By car: from Bolzano/Bozen or Bressanone/Brixen via the SS12 or the A22 Brenner motorway (exit Chiusa/Val Gardena). By train: the Chiusa/Klausen station is served by the Brenner line, with regional connections from Bolzano and Bressanone. The historic center is within walking distance of the station.
Entry is by free donation. Detailed programs and updated schedules are available on the official channels of the Amikaro association and the Chiusa tourist office (www.klausen.it).
