A musical laboratory in the heart of the Tuscia region

Orte Music Festival was founded in 2005 as a platform for emerging live music and has carved out a precise role over the years within the municipality of Orte and the entire province of Viterbo: giving a voice to Italian and European under-35 artists and bands, in a context where the stage is not a final destination but a springboard. The festival presents itself as a true ecosystem where young musicians, industry professionals, and the local public meet to spark new sonic paths and professional opportunities.

Three days, three identities

The structure of the festival is clear and recognizable: each day has a different theme and soul, so those who follow the entire festival can traverse genres that are very far apart without ever losing the thread.

• Roots and Future — an evening dedicated to emerging singer-songwriters and bands who reinterpret the rich Italian musical tradition with a contemporary twist.
• Live Jam — the most unpredictable appointment, where artists from different backgrounds and genres share the same stage for an improvised performance: this is where the festival's collaborative spirit is best seen.
• Jazz and Contaminations — the closing, entrusted to original projects by under-35 ensembles that blend jazz with world music and urban sounds.

Not just concerts: workshops and meetings

Alongside the evening program, the Orte Music Festival offers daytime activities designed especially for those who make music or would like to do so professionally. There are digital music production and artist management workshops, as well as talks and round tables with industry operators on concrete topics such as copyright and the economic sustainability of the music business. This part of the program clearly explains the philosophy of the event: live music as a tool for expression, intercultural dialogue, and territorial cohesion, not just as simple summer entertainment.

Orte, a village that becomes a stage

The choice of Orte is no coincidence. The village, perched on a tufa spur overlooking the Tiber Valley, is one of the historic crossroads of northern Lazio: the Via Amerina and trade between Rome and Umbria passed through here, and even today, Orte is one of the main railway hubs in the region. The contrast between the medieval alleys, churches, and squares of the historic center and the indie, electronic, and jazz sounds that flow through them on June evenings is one of the festival's most recognizable features.

A festival open to everyone

Admission to the shows is free, a choice that has allowed the festival to build a broad and transversal audience, with an attendance ranging between 500 and 2,000 people per day. The result is a relaxed and familiar atmosphere, very far from large commercial festivals: you move from one concert to another meeting the same musicians who were on stage just before, and the small size of the village encourages direct contact between artists and spectators.
