The village of orchids

Few people know that Osoppo, a municipality in the Middle Friuli region at the foot of its famous Fort, is a small paradise for nature lovers: the meadows and woods surrounding the town host an extraordinary variety of wild orchids, which offer a spectacular bloom in spring. From this richness is born the Orchid Festival, a nature and cultural event that animates the village every year in May.

Between nature, taste, and culture

The heart of the festival are the guided excursions to find wild orchids, by reservation, which attract numerous enthusiasts every year during the peak flowering period. Alongside the walks, the program includes visits to the Forte di Osoppo and open gardens, plant and decorative object markets, show cooking, tastings, concerts, shows, and activities for children.

There are also moments dedicated to local traditions and special events such as the arrival of the historic train from Pordenone and vintage car rallies. Gastronomy is provided by food stalls with local specialties and local craft beers.

A spring festival

Organized by the Pro Loco of Osoppo with the support of the Municipality, the Orchid Festival is now one of the most characteristic events of the Friulian spring: the spring air, the colors of the flowers, and the pleasure of being together make this event a perfect experience for families, naturalists, and the curious.
