The Scaliger Castle of Valeggio sul Mincio, in the province of Verona, is one of the most evocative fortifications in the Verona area. Built by the Scaligeri, lords of Verona, it dominates the Mincio valley from above and was part of the defensive system that protected the border with the Mantuan territory.
Climbing the Towers
Every year, from the end of March, the Pro Loco Valeggio reopens the castle towers to the public. Climbing to the top offers a unique panorama: the morainic hills, the course of the Mincio, the village of Borghetto, and on clear days, the profile of Lake Garda.
A Heritage to Discover
The seasonal opening, active on weekends and holidays until October, is an opportunity to discover a fundamental piece of the medieval history of Valeggio sul Mincio. A visit that combines the charm of the Scaliger stones with the beauty of the Venetian landscape, a few kilometers from Lake Garda.

In 2026, the seasonal opening of the Scaliger Castle towers in Valeggio sul Mincio begins on Saturday, March 21. The towers remain open for visits on weekends and holidays until October.
The initiative, organized by Pro Loco Valeggio, allows visitors to climb the medieval fortification and admire the panorama of the morainic hills, the Mincio river, and the village of Borghetto.

Opening hours and tickets
