The wine, craft beer, and spirits trade show of southern Lazio, held at the Castle of Isola del Liri
Oltre Roma Wine, Beer & Spirits is the event through which the Frosinone-Latina Chamber of Commerce, via its special agency Informare, highlights the production of the territory south of Rome. The name says it all: there is a wine-producing Lazio that goes beyond the capital and the Castelli Romani, defined by native grape varieties, small family-run wineries, and appellations that have gained significant traction on international markets in recent years.
The event primarily targets industry professionals—importers, distributors, restaurateurs, wine merchants, sommeliers, and specialized press—but also serves as a tourism promotion opportunity for the Ciociaria region and the entire Lazio region by connecting products with their places of origin.
The first two editions focused exclusively on wine under the Oltre Roma Wine Tour format. Since 2026, the event has expanded its scope to the entire world of artisanal beverages: alongside wineries, craft breweries and distilleries from the region now take center stage, showcasing a supply chain that is far more diverse than one might imagine.
The venue is one of the event's most captivating features. The Castello Boncompagni Viscogliosi in Isola del Liri is one of the most significant architectural complexes in the Frosinone province. Of medieval origin, it stands on a natural rocky outcrop around which the Liri River splits, creating the famous Cascata Grande (Great Waterfall) that plunges into the heart of the town. The castle's frescoed halls and Renaissance salons host the tasting stands, while the terraces offer breathtaking views of the water and the historic center.
The municipality of Isola del Liri, in the province of Frosinone, is one of the most unique villages in Lazio precisely because of the relationship between architecture and water: an urban waterfall over twenty meters high in the middle of a town is a rarity in Italy. Surrounding it is the Ciociaria, a land of abbeys—Casamari and Montecassino are nearby—perched villages, and honest cuisine featuring homemade pasta, cured meats, sheep's milk cheeses, and sweets like mostaccioli.
Access is reserved for industry professionals and the press, with prior accreditation managed by the organizing secretariat. It is not a public festival but a professional business event. Those interested in tasting these products can contact the local wineries and breweries directly, many of which offer tours and tastings throughout the year along the Southern Lazio Wine Routes.
The 2026 edition marked the transition from Oltre Roma Wine Tour to Oltre Roma Wine, Beer & Spirits: alongside wineries, craft breweries and distilleries from southern Lazio took the stage. The Castello Boncompagni Viscogliosi in Isola del Liri, with its frescoed halls overlooking the Liri waterfalls, hosted the tasting stands and B2B meetings over the two days.
The final tally recorded approximately 500 operators, buyers, and professionals, with a clear increase in international presence, including delegations of buyers from Belgium, Poland, Germany, and Switzerland. During the inauguration, it was also announced that the press conference for the launch of the 2027 Vinitaly edition would be held at the Castle of Isola del Liri: a recognition of the significance the event has attained for the Lazio wine sector.
Over 40 producers from the provinces of Frosinone and Latina, including about thirty wineries (Casale del Giglio, Cincinnato, Giorgio Pecora Vini, Tenuta Petra Potens, and others), breweries such as Birrificio Ciociaro, Birrificio Tsunami, and Eastside Brewing, and distilleries/liqueur makers like DF Gocce, Fratelli Izzi, Martin Kerri Distilleria, and Paolucci Liquori. The event was supported by the Wine Routes, local denomination protection consortia, and the IIS "Cesare Baronio".
By car: A1 Rome-Naples motorway, exit at Frosinone or Ceprano, then follow the Sora-Frosinone highway toward Isola del Liri (approx. 20 minutes). The distance from Rome is about 110 km.

By plane: Rome Fiumicino and Rome Ciampino airports, then continue by car or train.
The event is reserved for industry professionals (importers, distributors, restaurateurs, wine merchants) and the press, subject to prior accreditation. Information and registration via the secretariat: [email protected], tel. +39 351 7904925.
