The Bologna festival of indie, singer-songwriters, and urban music at Parco delle Caserme Rosse
OLTRE Festival is one of the most vibrant realities of Bologna's summer music scene, in the heart of Emilia-Romagna. Founded in 2019, the festival has grown year after year to become an anticipated event in the city's calendar. The name itself is an invitation to spend a few days "beyond" the historic center, exploring different genres, sounds, and languages in the green expanse of Parco delle Caserme Rosse, in the Corticella district. Since its first edition, the festival has hosted rap, indie pop, and electronic artists, launching musicians who later became nationally known.
OLTRE's formula is that of a festival tailored for a young audience, who experience concerts as a complete immersion. The evenings unfold on two parallel stages โ the Sequoie stage and the BOnsai stage โ which alternate throughout the event, ensuring no gaps between performances. The park's green area, capable of hosting up to seven thousand people, becomes a small music village where indie, singer-songwriter, electronic, and urban music coexist in a balanced mix of established and emerging names.
In 2026, OLTRE Festival returns with its new edition on June 20th and 21st, as part of the Sequoie Music Park lineup. The lineup confirms the festival's diverse vocation: the first day features Sayf, Dov'รจ Liana, the four-handed project by Maria Antonietta & Colombre, okgiorgio, and Velia; the second day stars Giorgio Poi, Noyz Narcos, Faccianuvola, Macello, and Sick Sirio. A lineup that blends indie singer-songwriting, electronic music, and Italian hip-hop.
The Parco delle Caserme Rosse, located on Via di Corticella, is no ordinary venue. It's a large green space on the northern outskirts of Bologna, linked to an important historical memory. Today, it's one of Bologna's summer music hubs, easily accessible and surrounded by greenery, ideal for hosting outdoor events during the long June evenings.
As one of Italy's most vibrant university cities, Bologna offers festival-goers much more than just a concert: a city to explore before and after the performances, with its arcades, trattorias, and a musical tradition that has always looked forward.
